What do I need to send trade signals from my AI agent?
Just an HTTP POST request with a JSON payload. The minimum required fields are ticker and action. No SDK, library, or special integration is needed. Custom code examples are available for Python, PHP, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, C#, C++, Java, and cURL.
Does TradersPost work with any AI model or platform?
Yes. Any system that can make an HTTP request can send signals to TradersPost. This includes GPT, Claude, custom ML models, LangChain agents, or any pipeline you build. TradersPost only cares about the JSON payload, not what generated it.
What fields can I include in a webhook signal?
Beyond ticker and action, you can include quantity, order type, limit and stop prices, take-profit and stop-loss parameters, trailing stops, time in force, extended hours, a delay for staggered execution, a staleness rejection window, and an extras object for custom metadata like model name or confidence score.
How fast are signals processed?
Signals from well-located custom infrastructure reach TradersPost in approximately 80ms. Total time from signal to order placement at the broker is typically around 380ms, depending on broker API response time and network conditions.
Can I test my AI strategy without risking real money?
Yes. You can use the test field in your JSON payload for dry-run testing, use TradersPost built-in paper trading, or connect to paper trading environments from brokers like Tradovate, TradeStation, and Alpaca.
