Allow live trading

The Allow live trading option gives strategy owners control over whether their strategy can be used with live broker accounts. When this option is disabled, subscribers will only be able to use paper trading accounts with the strategy.

Why Use This Option?

This setting is important for strategy owners who want to:

  • Test their strategy thoroughly before allowing live trading
  • Ensure the strategy is properly validated with paper trading first
  • Maintain control over how their strategy is used by subscribers
  • You want to run a discretionary trading strategy for prop firm trading and you want to allow auto submit but disallow live trading

How It Works

  • Enabled (default): Subscribers can connect the strategy to both paper and live broker accounts
  • Disabled: Subscribers can only use paper trading accounts with this strategy

When disabled, any attempts to connect the strategy to a live broker account will be rejected with a validation error explaining that the strategy only allows paper trading.

This feature provides an important safety mechanism, allowing strategy owners to thoroughly validate their strategy's performance before enabling live trading capabilities.
