When trading options, you can filter which expiration series TradersPost scans: 0DTE, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, End of Month, Quarterly, or LEAPS. Leave this unset to include every available series.
TradersPost applies this filter first, then picks the earliest listed expiration on or after your configured Expiration value within that series.
When Allow signal override next to the option contract settings (or the global Allow signal overrides) is enabled, you can override this strategy setting by sending a value in the expirationType field in the webhook payload. The field accepts one of the following values: zero-dte, daily, weekly, monthly, end-of-month, quarterly, or leaps.
{
"ticker": "SPY",
"action": "buy",
"expirationType": "weekly",
"expiration": "+1 month",
"intrinsicValue": "itm",
"strikesAway": 2
}
The above example filters to weekly expirations, selects the first weekly date at least one month out, then selects the in-the-money call two strikes away from at the money.
