No Entry Bid Ask Spread Filter Exceeded

Cannot enter a new {{ actionSentiment }} {{ ticker }} position because the entry bid-ask spread of {{ entryBidAskSpread }} exceeds the configured filter value of {{ entryBidAskSpreadFilter }} in your strategy subscription settings.

This message indicates that the entry order was rejected because the current bid-ask spread for the ticker exceeded the maximum allowed spread configured in your Entry bid-ask spread filter setting.

The Entry bid-ask spread filter allows you to set a maximum allowed bid-ask spread for your entry orders. When TradersPost plans a trade, it checks the current bid-ask spread for the ticker. If the spread exceeds your configured threshold, the entry order is rejected before it is submitted to your broker to prevent fills during illiquid or volatile market conditions.

This feature requires market data (quotes) to be available from your broker. If your broker does not support quotes, this filter will not be applied.

For example, if you set the filter to $0.02 and the current bid-ask spread for a ticker is $0.05, the order will be rejected with this message.

This helps protect you from:

  • Trading in illiquid markets with wide spreads
  • Unexpected slippage due to poor market conditions
  • Orders filling at unfavorable prices
