Cannot enter a new {{ ticker }} position because the entry bid-ask spread of {{ entryBidAskSpread }} exceeds the configured filter value of {{ entryBidAskSpreadFilter }}.
This message means the entry order was not submitted because the bid-ask spread on the quote used for that entry exceeded the effective entry cap: the Entry bid-ask spread filter amount or Entry bid-ask spread filter percent from your subscription and/or bidAskSpreadFilter (dollar amount) or bidAskSpreadFilterPercent (percent spread cap) from the webhook when signal rules allow it.
When TradersPost plans an entry, it compares the current spread to that cap. If the configured cap is a dollar amount, the spread is compared as ask - bid. If the configured cap is a percent, the live spread is expressed as (ask - bid) / ((ask + bid) / 2) * 100 (midpoint in the denominator only; mark fallback when that midpoint is zero). If the spread is wider, the entry is blocked to reduce risk of fills in illiquid or very wide-spread conditions.
This feature requires market data (quotes) from your broker. If the broker does not support quotes, the filter is not applied and you should not see this message for that reason.
For example, if the effective entry cap is $0.02 and the current spread is $0.05, the entry is rejected. Likewise, if the effective entry cap is 0.05% and the live spread exceeds 0.10% by the same percent measure, the entry is rejected with this message.
Entry and exit filters are independent: tightening Exit bid-ask spread filter amount / Exit bid-ask spread filter percent does not block entries based on that setting, and tightening Entry bid-ask spread filter amount / Entry bid-ask spread filter percent does not block exits.
